Why beer culture?
Before moving to Germany, beer was honestly not something special to me. I did not even really like it. Franconia changed that slowly.
Here I began to understand that beer does not have to be just a drink. It can be history, craft, an inn, a village, a landscape and a conversation at a shared table. A Seidla can be just a beer, but sometimes it is also the beginning of a small path to a place you would never have discovered otherwise.
Beer hikes made this especially clear to me: this culture connects people, places and moments. A cellar in summer, a Brotzeit after walking, a small brewery in a village, a bench under trees and people peacefully enjoying something that belongs to the region.
How I see Find My Seidla
Find My Seidla is not meant to be a glossy tourism portal or an official best-of list. It is an attempt to explain Franconian beer culture honestly, practically and with respect.
That also means drawing clear lines: what is factual information, what is personal context, and what still needs to be checked before a visit? Opening hours, operators, festival dates and details can change. The site should give orientation without pretending every place is perfectly plannable at all times.
What I try to care about
- Treat beer as culture, not just as a drink
- Take small places and local habits seriously
- Separate practical information from personal interpretation
- Avoid false completeness when data can change
- Make Franconia understandable for locals and international visitors
